Rihanna and Jacquie Aiche Temporary Tattoos

Singer Rihanna and LA based jewellery designer Jacquie Aiche have collaborated to create a line of temporary tattoos.

The seven sheet set includes knuckle wraps, name plates, arm bands and chains. The duo have included the alphabet in Gothic lettering, so that fans can spell out Rihanna’s lyrics on their bodies. These bold letters are a contrast to softer delicate designs that mimic Jacquie’s dainty jewellery designs.

In a release Jacquie explained:

‘Creating the tattoos was a really collaborative process between Rihanna and myself, which we feel is so evident in the final designs’

Keep an eye out for further tattoo inspired collaborations between Rihanna and Jacquie Aiche in the future.

Urban Outfitters trashy tattoos

You can buy trashy temporary tattoos from Urban Outfitters, but why are they called Trashy? Is it merely the name of the brand or is the online store passing its judgement on certain tattoo designs?

The designs that are deemed as trashy include tribal, dolphins, anchors and barbed wire. These have all taken part in tattoo trends, each one gaining popular in different time periods and decades gone by.

But is Urban Outfitters simply stating that all tattoos are trashy?

Temporary tattoos for Suzie

Every Friday Suzie Barrie goes to her local tattoo studio, Muscle and Ink in New Zealand for a new temporary tattoo.

For the past few months Suzie, who has Down’s Syndrome, has been taking a pack of temporary tattoo designs and tattooist Jason Ward applies them for her, like he would a regular tattoo – he even wears gloves.

At first Jason thought it was a one time thing, but Suzie hasn’t missed a week since she first went in and when she has time she gets more than one design.

Tattoo artist, Jason Ward of Muscle and Ink Tattoo gives Suzie a stick-on tattoo each week.

Talking to the New Zealand Herald Jason said:

The first time she came in, she just walked in, slapped a couple of stick-on tattoo packets on the desk and asked me to put them on her arm. I said, ‘what?’ And she said it again so I sat her down and put them on… But if she was a member of my family and she had have walked into another tattoo shop and they had told her to bugger off, I’d be angry. Why would you say no? You should treat everybody the same.
